IT'S...................

...time for an update! It's definitely been a while! Last month Cam had his 3yr well visit, and he is growing well. He was 33.2lbs and 38" so a little above the 50% in both, as usual. He's growing well and developing normally. As always, she was surprised by just how well he speaks! We also discusses his rounds of croup, and are monitoring things over the next few months to decide if we think it's asthma or just croup. So far, so good--no bouts of it this month (((KNOCK ON WOOD)))!

His doctor did have a concern about Cam's heart murmur. It was originally diagnosed when he was in the hospital in Iowa City, and we were told that it was an innocent murmur and nothing to be concerned about. He's had it ever since then, but his doctor thought it was noticeably more pronounced during his 3yr appt. So, she's sending him to a pediatric cardiologist (next Monday) just to be safe. He has no troubles with running around and playing and being out of breath. Also, his growth is right on, so we are all pretty sure it's nothing to worry about. It's just a "let's be safe" kind of thing. I'll update you on what we find out next week.

Kaden is doing awesome in Kindergarten!!! He was really worried about making new friends, and that his old friends wouldn't want to play with him anymore. :( Well, none of this has been a problem at all. He has made several good friends in his new class, and still plays with some friends from last year during recess. He always tells me recess is his favorite part of the day--usually followed by centers. Go figure! LOL We met with his teacher recently to discuss his progress, and Kaden is doing really well academically! We couldn't be more happy that we gave him an extra year of K-Prep before sending him to Kindergarten. He has already met several of our math goals for the year, and his teacher is excited that he's already doing some writing! So, I'd say he is doing quite well!

As for baby #3...we found out yesterday that the 3rd time IS the charm! We're having a girl!!!! And we are all quite happy about that. :) Josh and I were hoping for a girl this time, and both boys were asking for a sister. Kaden started off wanting another boy, then one day he was shopping at Walmart with me. He saw a woman with a baby girl, and kept talking about how cute she was...and suddenly changed his mind to wanting a sister. Cam must have caught on to this, because he then started talking about a sister. Well, we all got our wish! :)

Our big ultra sound was yesterday, and it showed that she is measuring right on target in all areas. And she is weighing in at 12oz! :) Overall, things look really good with her. They do suspect that she is trying to follow in Cam's shoes in the kidney/bladder department, though. Not what we wanted to hear, but not near as worrisome as it was with Cam considering we've been through it all now. Also, given recent events with friends of ours, it's easy to see that things could be so much worse. My OB is sending us to see a perinatologist on the 30th to have a Level II ultrasound done to (likely) confirm the diagnosis of hydronephrosis again. And then we'll go from there.

Trying to think what else has happened in the last month...a ton, I'm sure! I know I am waaaay behind in posting pictures, so I'll have to work on that soon!
