Anyway, they had to gave him Motrin, a Z-Pack, and another neb treatment in the office. Fortunately, they started to see some improvement in his breathing, so he didn't have to go to the hospital. The doctor basically told Josh that Cam did have croup, but also some kind of respiratory infection that isn't too common. Weird thing is that she said it's uncommon, but she's seen 3-4 other little kids w/it here just recently. So, Cam came home w/some meds and more Albuterol so we could continue treatments every 4hrs. While he was getting better, he sure did still need those.
He was fever free all day yesterday, but still tired from all the sleep he'd missed out on. Nap and bed time are the hardest times right now. For the first hour or two he sleeps, coughs, sleeps, coughs. When he finally gets into a deep sleep he's usually out, though. Thank goodness! I think we're close to the end of the neb treatments--woohoo! He's still coughing, but it's so much better now than before!
After 3 days at home, Cam finally went back to Lisa's today. I was a little worried, because he's still been really crabby. I guess most of that must have been due to being tired and out of his routine, because he had a great day! Lots of coughing--especially at nap time--but a great day overall. He even made a sunflower during preschool! He was soooo proud of it! :)
Our little Cam-a-Lam is finally on the road to being healthy again!!!
