Grandma

My grandma fell Tuesday and was in horrible pain. Grandpa called 911 and they took her to the hospital in a nearby town. They thought she may've broken a hip, so they took X-rays. Her hips looked fine, but according to the ER doc she pulled her groin and was in so much pain she couldn't move, stand up, sit up, anything. With all this the damn ER doc actually tried to send her home!!! How the hell did he think they were going to get her into a vehicle and home?!?! Apparently, he even had the nurse call the police to ask them help mom and gpa get her into the house. Seriously?!?!

Gpa insisted on having their own doc come over and check her out. He was out for the day so another doc came, checked her out, and admitted her immediately. Yesterday morning her own doctor came and checked her out. Apparently, their was no physical evidence of a pulled groin. Really???? They did find osteoporosis in her hip and said that the cement in her hip was loose. Not totally sure what all that means, but it doesn't sound like it'd feel good.

She was still in a lot of pain yesterday--her pain level did not change. They tried to do therapy with her, but were only able to lift her leg up a little bit. Latest update today is that therapy improved from this AM to this afternoon. So, that is great news!! Tomorrow she will be transferred to the Madrid Home to the Special Care Unit. We're all praying that her therapy progresses quickly and she's back home very soon!
