We headed to the Cherry Glenn campgrounds--a very short drive from our house! Josh and Kaden had gone over earlier to pick out the site and put up the tent, so that was nice. :) Kaden and Camdyn helped Josh get the fire going, while I unpacked things in the tent. Kaden then cooked us hotdogs for supper! We were close to a playground, so we headed over there after supper. Cam really liked the tunnels and slides, but I think Kaden's favorite part was playing super heros w/daddy--Kade was "Super Kade" and he saved the day, and Josh was the bad guy that he had to catch!LOL
After the playground we went back and made S'mores....yummmmmmm!! Then came the tough part: getting Cam to go to bed. We'd brought the laptop and put on a movie for the boys, but Cam had no idea what was going on and was freaking out! Josh and I were sitting by the fire, and at one point Cam stood up by the tent door and yelled "Over here!" to Josh and I!LOL Another time (after he'd calmed down), I guess he wanted to be sure we knew where he was, so he stood up so he could see us and said, "I right here." Then sat down to watch Elmo. LOL :)
He had a hard time getting to sleep, and was awake until after 10:00!! He woke up in the middle of the night and whispered to me, "Mommy, wake up." When I didn't move he started saying it louder. LOL What a stinker! Needless to say, with as little sleep as he got he was just pure joy the next day...NOT!
Wednesday morning the boys played while Josh made us a yummy breakfast--potatoes, eggs, sausage. And after breakfast we packed up (we being Josh and I, while the boys pretneded to drive the van) and headed home. It was a short trip, but really fun (minus Cam's sleeping issues)!! Sounds like a great camping trip even if you didn't get a bunch of Cam-granted sleep, lol! But what the heck, camping's not for sleeping, right? :)
aww i liked the pic of them holding hands walking to the park...sounds like you guys had fun!!! kaden was talking alot about smores...when he was eating hte marshmallows he says he wasn't eating...he would have me blow on them as if i had fire coming out of my mouth to make them smores!!! what a cutie!!!
LMAO!! How cute and fun! Cam is too darn cute! LOL!! Maybe next year you can make it 2 nights! LOL!!
