UTI

Emily has already been diagnosed with her first urinary tract infection. :( I guess this could explain the random low temp she ran Monday morning after surgery. Anyway, before surgery they took a urine sample from her and had it cultured--routine procedure. The resident called me Wednesday night to let us know that some bacteria did grow from the culture--not a lot, but enough to need meds.

Emily has been taking Amoxicillan since she was 2 days old, to prevent UTIs. This bacteria happens to be resistant to Amox, so she is taking a different antibiotic for the next 5 days. Then a week after that, we'll take her to our doctor for a recheck. Hopefully it'll be gone then and never return!!!
