Last night we were in the kitchen getting ready to go to Uncle Marc's basketball game. I was helping Kaden finish tie his shoes and Cam was standing by the back door. He came to me and told me he'd found a triangle and I needed to come see it. Sure enough, he showed me the triangle pattern on the back door! I can't believe he recognized the shape and knew it was a triangle! Lots of kiddos coming into K don't know that!
Cam also knows the names of many numbers and can count into the teens. He's also getting better and pointing and counting a group of objects. He doesn't correctly identify letters yet, but he knows a TON of letter names, and is constantly playing with our Leap Frog letter magnets. This morning I am wearing a sweatshirt that says "AIR FORCE". Cam pointed to the A, and I said, "That's the letter A, Cam." And he said, "No, Mommy. That /a/ /a/!" He knew the sound that A made! All wknd he's been walking around saying "/s/ /s/ /a/ /a/"...wonder if they talked about those letters at daycare this week??
Anyway, it just amazes me the things he knows and says! He has a huge vocabulary and speaks very well. As for independent, he rarely wants help with anything. Even when he's getting upset and frustrated he wants to do it himself. :) And for the ornery...if you tell him something he doesn't like, say "No throwing toys, Cam." He'll likely say to you, "No say no throw toys!" The boy's got some attitude...as if you hadn't already noticed!
And for the silly...he now tells knock knock jokes--thanks big brother Kade!LOL They're all very silly and don't make much sense, but he sure thinks they're funny! His fav on the drive home last night:
C--Knock, knock, Mommy.
M--Who's there?
C--Captain
M--Captain who?
C--Captain Kaden! (lots and lots of laughs!!!)
