Monday is Cam's yearly visit to the pediatric urologist in Iowa City. Last summer the tests they did were invasive and it was really hard on all of us. The overall results were that he was still refluxing on the left side, but the ureterocelle was still decompressed and the function of the left kidney was better than we'd expected.
Cam has not had a single UTI since the one after his surgical procedure in 2006. The reflux is something that could go away over the next couple years or stay the same. Because of all this we made the decision at the time to NOT do surgery and stay the course we are on (daily meds to prevent UTIs). So, on Monday they will do an ultrasound to check the size, shape, and position of his kidneys and we will meet with his doctor.
