Family Vacation

July 24th-27th we went on a little vacation to St. Joseph, MO. While Josh was working in the fireworks tent we found out that one of the local hotels had recently added a water park. (Here's a link: http://www.stjosephramada.com/water-park.asp ) We'd been planning to go down to visit Josh's family anyway, so we decided to make it a mini-family vacation while we were at it!

Kaden was totally excited about the water park and staying in a hotel...Cam, of course, had no clue!LOL Overall, it was a great trip! Cam was totally thrown off his schedule, so we had plenty of Crabby Cam time. He's been to our pool a ton, so I was surprised that he wasn't interested in the water park! He did venture up into the kid's area one time and we got dumped on by the big old bucket of water...he was not impressed. Cam and I spent a lot of time floating around the lazy river...definitely my cup of tea. :) Kaden made new friends every time we went down to the water park it seemed. He loved the kids area and even let the big bucket of water dump on him on purpose! He also liked trying--successfully, I might add--to tip he and Daddy over in the lazy river, play water basketball, and slide on the little water slides.

They also have a VERY big water slide that is mostly outside of the hotel. Kaden went on it once the 1st day and decided it was too scary to go on again. The second day Josh went on it and talked me into going. After Kaden saw me go down it, he decided to give it a try again. But he decided it was still scary.:) And Josh and I both agreed it kind of was! It's pretty tall/long, and at first their is light coming through which was cool, but a good part of the last part of the slide is in total darkness. You have no clue the end is there until you are right there! So, a bit on the scary side, but fun just the same! :)

While we were down there we got to visit with each of Josh's parents, as well as his grandparents and aunt and uncle. We all had a great time and really enjoyed our trip...at the same time it was still nice to come home!

Here is a slideshow of some of the pics we took...I narrowed it down from 96, so you should be pretty impressed! LOL
